Unfortunaly Im living in Huddinge /Stockholm/Sweden,really wish it was in New Zealand,maybe some day I get a fortune and Ill buy a house in N.Z.

We have a rather harsh winter here,with rain and snow,but unfortunatly not much snowcover nowadays.Not the very best for many plants,one have to find the spots with the very best microclimate to optimize overwintering. Restarted my garden career some years ago with Alpine Gardening and now I have my own small gardencenter.I dont have a lot of time for my own Garden but I have recently started a new small collection of Caudiciforms,Lithops,Opthalmophyllum and Cacti. At the Floriade in Holland I got my eyes on the growing Interest for the Tropicallisimo part of gardening. I allways try to get my customers to try something new,from the States,Indonesia or wherewer I get my hands on something new. This is what I have in my cellar,greenhouse or at my countryhouse in Southern Sweden. Agave americana variegata(a realy big one),Agave americana, Musa Basjoo,Musa acuminata Dwarf Cawendish,Musa Murelli,Musa Tandarra Red,Trachycarpus fortunei,Phormium Bronze Baby,Phormium Margaret Wilson,Phormium Jester,Phormium Golden Sword,Cortaderia,Yuccas etc outdoors.

I have plants in an unheated growinghouse fore some time before I move them into the cellar, Musas exept Musa Basjoo was mowed insidethe 23rd of september.Musa Basjoo seems to take a lot of light freezing before you have to take it inside or protect it in some way .Trachycarpus fortuneii is still outside in the snow.

Dont mowe plants inside to fast ,let them adapt slowly to the relative heat inside where to keep them in the winter.
